Fresh from the release of her latest single Veins, the ineffable singer-songwriter Dortmunder native Charlotte Brandi comes to Berlin for one night only on Friday 12th April.
Whilst she’s perhaps best known as part of the duo Me And My Drummer, she’s making her mark as a solo artist, with her new record The Magician raising eyebrows everywhere. With ethereal and raspy vocals, there’s a raw texture and intriguing sense of nostalgia to her music – it’s certainly a unique sound, and we at indieBerlin think she’s definitely one to keep your beady eyes on.
Her debut solo work is a testament to her creativity and songwriting ability: rich with smoky harmonies, layered arrangements and quirky lyrics, it’s a punchy outing complemented perfectly by her delicious vocals. We’ve not heard anything quite like it in a while, and we’re intrigued to see what she’ll surprise us with next.
This latest record is a chocolate-box of weird and wonderful instrumentation – there’s something totally captivating about her style. In parts, it’s rich with jazz and blues influences; in others, it’s unquestionably modern, with a contemporary air that firmly distinguishes it from any other artist we can think of. We’d be thoroughly surprised if this show didn’t sell out, so we implore you to act fast if you don’t want to miss the opportunity to see her live!
Charlotte will be performing this Friday at Silent Green Kulturquartier, with support coming in the form of MENT – for your chance to win a pair of tickets to her gig at this effortlessly charming venue, drop us a line at win(at)indieberlin.de.
