She Makes War has been pushing out great indie songs from her Bristol base under this name for a good few years now, winning tons of fans along the way. As well as singing, playing and writing her own music, she’s also a visual artist, plus she’s played bass for various people including Tricky.
On one of her rare European tours, she’s live at the Sofa Salon living room concert series in Alt Moabit this Saturday 30.9, and indieBerlin has two free tickets to give away to check it out.
You need to reserve your place and get the address of the apartment hosting the show by writing to berlinsofasalon (at) gmail.com. It’s 8-15€ entry. Doors at 19:30 and music at 20:15.
indieBerlin has been a big fan for years, and she is 100% worth checking out….but don’t just take it from me, this is what other people have said:
– Amanda Palmer
– Midge Ure
“A modern musical Boudica who sings these dreamy, heartfelt songs that envelop you with their raw beauty and textural melodies”
– John Robb, Louder Than War
“A combination of musical talent and digital smarts worthy of an English Amanda Palmer”
– Tom Robinson, 6 Music
“Reminding us of Medúlla-era Björk… she’s ace”
– Lauren Laverne, 6 Music
“The emotional resonance of Elliott Smith colliding with the barbed vigour of Sleater-Kinney”
See you there?
