Loft’s Straend Festival is coming back after last year’s first edition went so well. Surfers and concert goers are encouraged to head there. The festival is perfect for those appreciative of waterfronts and beaches, tree huggers and wannabe hippies.
indieberlin recommends attending the second edition of Straend Festival which will take place on August 20 at the Arena Berlin. The audience will see daytime performances by Aussies Waxhead (garage rock), Hein Cooper (indietronica) and Sticky Fingers (reggae-rock). They will be followed by local artists Heartbeast (soul) and Fra Diavolo (Hip-Hop). All this barefoot, naturally.
In cooperation with Nord Nordost Surf Film Festival Berlin, the festival will air five movies – Fish, Island Earth, 70 E Tal, Beyond (Photoshow) and Chasing Zero. The festival isn’t limited to surf, music and film, it also has an art exhibition by Angelo Schmitt who’ll be making beach sculptures.
Tickets for the festival are on sale now. €22 for attendees older than 16, half price for kids from 13 up to 15 and free for younger ones. They are available at different physical locations and online. indieberlin has four currently up for grabs.
