Mothers started out as a solo project by vocalist/guitarist Kristine Leschper. The young singer/songwriter studied at an art school and it was there that she decided to write a few songs. Lespcher performed solo on a number of showcases including famous living room gig – Sofar Sounds.
She began to garner a following in the Georgia music scene and after realising that her solo project was getting some attention Leschper decided to recruit other musicians from Athens to form a full band.
With Matthew Anderegg on drums, Drew Kirby on guitar and Patrick Morales on bass, Mothers now had a more complete sound.
The quartet then started working on their debut album, and the result was When You Walk a Long Distance You Are Tired.
Having embarked on their first European Tour, Mothers will play in Berlin at Szimpla Badehaus on the 2nd of June.
And here at indieberlin we have decided to raffle 1×2 tickets. So just write to us on win at indieberlin.de or leave us a comment below in a chance to see Mothers live.
