The Coathangers are committed to the old punk ethos: Anyone can form a band, the difference between artist and audience is brushed aside and whatever you see on stage is art.
Formed spontaneously in a cellar in Atlanta, US in 2007 they ended up signed to a Seattle record label and toured relentlessly until they felt a need to take a break, step back and take stock in 2018.
It seems to have worked – they’re back in full force with a great new album, The Devil You May Know. “We’re choosing to be positive, proactive, and vocal about our stories and life experiences, giving up the devil we know. We’re going to uncharted places—looking for truthful existence, one not based on fear of the unknown but one that occurs when you have an open heart to was is real,” say the band.
They’re live in Maze on the 9th of May and indieBerlin is excited to be co-presenting the show! Win tickets by writing to win (at) indieberlin.de!
