We’ve long been a fan of Laura Kidd aka She Makes War, multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, producer, one-time session bass player (like for Tricky for example)…she played the Sofa Salon late 2017 and we became even bigger fans….she’s now organising crowd funding for her fourth album, with “rewards” like albums, vinyl, fan packs, teeshirts, the whole shebang. Definitely worth it!
But I’ll let the lady speak for herself:
The end of the Pledge Music campaign to fund my fourth album is nigh. I’m excited and a bit nervous. I would LOVE your support on this one, guys. 85% and counting – let’s doooooooo this!
You can pick out your exclusive musical treats before 00:00 on 1st February – but if I don’t reach my target everything tumbles back to zero.
Things I have recently shared on the subject:
I posted an article about the whys and wherefores of crowdfunding this morning which I’d love you to read and share your thoughts on.
I recorded my first gig of the year on Wednesday for Sofar Sounds in Frome (gorgeous living room pictured above) and am giving all five tracks away free for Pledgers.
(If you haven’t pledged yet, listen to “Dear Heart” here)
I filmed some clips of new songs I’ll be working into finished things for the magical mystery music subscription and my two dogs ruined/improved it with their enthusiasm.
Some of the Pledge exclusives are in danger of running out, here’s a list of the most urgent:
1 Baby Taylor acoustic – the “Slow Puncture” guitar
1 Faith Venus acoustic – the “Blue” guitar
4 vinyl test pressings
13 handwritten lyric books
31 blood red cassettes
66 sea blue vinyl
79 magical mystery music subscription places
Sending love via tightly crossed fingers and toes,
..and here’s an earlier gem from She Makes War:
