Jens-Markus Wegener is managing director at international publishing firm Imagem Music, the world’s largest independent music publishing company, and as such is at the absolute forefront of music publishing worldwide. Imagem boasts offices in a number of countries and a huge catalogue of songs, ranging from the likes of Timberlake and the Kaiser chiefs through classical music to musicals and more indie stuff.
Jens-Markus Wegener’s career started in public relations and marketing back in the 80s when he founded his first company, Public Propaganda. In 1990 he developed the DDC-Clubcharts and founded music publishing company AMV Alster. Jens-Markus Wegener has also initiated the German Dance Awards and been a member of the German Music Publisher Association DMV. Through over twenty years in the vanguard of the music publishing industry the gentleman in question has amassed a wealth of knowledge and expertise about everything to do with this side of the industry.
