Arnold Kasar is an old friend of indieberlin, a long-time Berlin resident and musician, Kasar has released albums through Sonar Kollektiv as well as working with the band Micatone and more recently Friedrich Lichtenstein, he of the quirky Supergeil youtube viral advert/sensation. More recently Kasar left production and went back to his first instrument, the piano – and he creates wonderfully atmospheric instrumental pieces of music.
Kasar was in a valley in the Black Forest recently and recorded eleven short, fully improvised piano pieces that he’s decided to give to everyone as a Christmas present. So go to Soundcloud and download “Inside the Devil’s Kitchen” – an odd name perhaps for a Christmas album but anyway….it’s perfect for anyone who needs a break from the giddy tinsle madness that is pre-Xmas. Turn off the lights, pour yourself a good red wine, kick back and listen to this.
