Trixie Whitley is a musical wunderkind par excellence. Born in Belgium to a musician father and moving to New York at a year old, Trixie learnt to play her first instrument, the drums, at ten . At eleven she was touring Europe with various theatre companies and by the time she was fourteen she toured as an actor, singer, dancer and musician with „Les Ballets C de la B“. through the same period Trixie became known as the youngest resident DJ in Europe, spinning records at raves, festivals and parties in Brussels, Paris, NY and Amsterdam.
Moving back to Belguim in 2005 she started working on her own music and recorded a debut EP in the spring of 2008. that summer she was invited to play at the Montreal International jazz Festival and has since then worked with and been feted by names such as Robert Plant, Marianne Faithrull, Marc Ribot and others.
Also in 2008 legendary producer Stephen Lanois invited her to Berklee College of Music and collaborated with her on new music, forming a group with her and bassist Daryl Johnson (Stones, Dylan etc) called Black Dub. While working with Black Dub Trixie recorded her own music too and released a five-song EP of a live performance and in 2012 finished her debut album Fourth Corner. In summer 2012 she performed at festivals such as SXSW and Bonnaroo and toured the US in November and December of last year.
This year sees Trixie touring Europe with her own material for the first time and we’re very happy to announce that she is playing on Monday in Postbahnhof and that we have two tickets to give away at firstname.lastname@example.org
