Robert Grant is a man who knows how to throw a party.
The larger than life spoken word poet who also runs a music video company called Twisted Reel now gives us Berlin’s go-to indie lit party: Yes boys and girls it’s Wordfest 2019 this Saturday 4th May!
WORDFEST is a celebration of the written word in all it’s wonderful forms. From graphic novels to poetry, from comic books to scriptwriting and everything in between. This event has it all and everybody is welcome. Opening at noon it’ll go well until midnight, featuring over 25 of Berlin’s coolest and most interesting independent wordsmiths.

Kids Corner. (Kids come in for free) Special events for smaller word fans…including Readings from children’s authors, a clown show, face painting plus food and drink and other special activities.

Our Alt stage will be running all day for your entertainment. With readings and talks and some music.
At the venue there is also a full cafe and bar plus special food trucks brought in for this event to cater to every pallet.

Some of the very best spoken word artists in Berlin are coming together to give you the kind of show that has never been seen before. Nicole Ratjen, Ryan Nash, Kevin Groen, Lady Gaby, Jessie James LaFleur and Robert Grant will deliver ‘WORD’ at it’s very best.

+ The Poetic Groove will host our Alt stage. Running all night with an Open Mic concept to give up and coming poets the stage to present their work. The first 10 poets to sign up from 8pm at the door will get a place, but who know what will happen at the end of the main stage show. Also, giving you the choice of two stages.
The whole evening event will be hosted by the wonderful Comedian and Actor Denis Lyons

Noel Maurice is one of the founders of indieberlin. Originally from the UK via a childhood in Johannesburg, he has been resident in Berlin since 1991. Describing himself as a ‘recovering musician’, he is the author of The Berlin Diaries, a trilogy detailing the East Berlin art and squat scene of the early 90s, available on Amazon and through this site. Noel is currently completing his second novel. As well as running indieBerlin, Noel is also active as web designer, chatbot creator and business communication coach.
