It’s one of the best festivals in Europe, and you can go for free – thanks to indieBerlin and our new friends over in Bulgaria. Read all about it, then find out how to win at the bottom.
I’m not just saying that: Meadows in the Mountains is one of the best. Condé Naste and Metro both ranked it among the international greats. The Guardian raves about the music; the Ransom Note swoons at the atmosphere; the Telegraph compares it to Burning Man and Glastonbury… if any of those names mean something to you.
And at indieBerlin we’ve got two tickets reserved for you, on the house. But before you book your flights to Bulgaria – that’s where it all goes down, on the slopes of the Rhodopes – at least find out what you’re in for.
“loved-up deep n sexy house and world musical bliss”
So who’s playing? Um, we don’t know. The MM powers that be are mischievously hush-hush about the lineup. What we do know is that they have a track record of brilliance: they’ve got music-loving friends all across the continent foraging for DJs, bands and all kinds of curiosities.
Unless you’re a particularly clued-up reader, previous stars of the show (Francesco Del Garda, Hrdvsion, Will Saul, Riot Jazz) might draw a blank. But just wait till you watch the sun sink over the horizon from that lush mountain plain, and see if you’re still waiting for David Guetta to turn up…
“the energy on those mountain meadows makes my soul fly and my heart sing”
As with any festival worth its salt, the music at MM is just the beginning. Audio Feed lugs its world-famous rigs all the way from Burning Man. The HARA tent brims over with the best of humanity: yoga, healing, meditation, motivation and inspiration sunrise to sundown.
Most importantly, they’re not just there to trash up some inconsequential corner of nowhere, then forget about cleaning up. There’s a no-plastic policy, everything is recyclable, and the festival works closely with the local community (even for food and beds!) to make sure you can party with good conscience.

I opened by quoting some big names. But let’s be real, the press is just fake news, right? So all these other quotes have been from real people like you & me – well, not like me, I’m press too. If you still want convincing, watch this video from last year.
