Haux: An angelic dream you won’t want to wake up from

Haux is coming to perform in May in Berlin!

Ever heard an artist that is so smooth you feel like you’re floating on a cloud or in a calm sea? Haux brings that and more with his ethereal voice, emotive videography in both music video and short pieces and tranquil beats.

Combining a mixture of dreamy folk, indie pop and semi-tropical electronic, Woodson Black, the force behind Haux, creates a serene space in your mind to drift off and completely relax. Acoustic guitar is the basis of his songs, with smooth lyrics and vocals and light drums to create the calm flow in his works.

With beautiful aesthetics and serene sound, Haux contributes a poetical and moving artistry that will leave you drifting on a cloud.

His voice, along with his lyrics about heartbreak, is strongly similar to artists like Bon Iver and C Duncan. In very poetic formations, his lyrics are quite dark and usually refer to broken relationships and secrets, like in his song Heartbeat.

His newest EP, Something to Remember, includes songs that are not only emotive to listen to but also to watch. Haux creates very authentic, artistic and symbolic videos, creating a storyline of a destroyed relationship with his song Heartbeat, as well as his short film with the same name as his EP, Something to Remember.

Something to Remember is read in a quiet and delicate voice with soft piano in the background. It is clearly a woman reflecting on her relationship and wondering where her old partner is and what he does now they’ve left each other, while a couple gets ready together creating melancholy aesthetics to accompany her speech.

Heartbeat seems to carry on or prequel this story, with the man from the relationship carrying a clear empty box to the sea and leaving it as it fills with red smoke, relating back to Haux’s lyrics that emphasise secrets and storms hiding beneath the surface of a relationship.
