Bakery’s debut album Lucy plays with influences from hip hop and trip hop, dub, electronica, lo-fi soul and a bunch more. And even though that sounds like a bit of a mish-mash, these four Berliners have managed to turn the mixture into a distinctive sound.
Bakery made their live debut at the Berlin Festival, toured with the art group Bird Milk throughout East Europe, played a headliner slot at the Fusion, and were even invited by the makers of the Burning Man festival in the USA where they got to play two sets to the assembled – even though one of the two sets took place in the middle of a standstorm but, hey, Burning Man, right?
Signed by New York label Axis Mundi , they put together a bunch of tracks between Berlin, Miami and Washington D.C. – they followed with a European tour supporting Crystal Fighters, including a sold-out Berlin show….now they’re live on the 12th October.
