While most people know of the Berlinale, few know of the Boddinale. Partly cos this year will be the first one. But we think it definitely won’t the last. Celebrating independent films and their makers, it promises to be a regular blowout.
Tomorrow night the festival kicks off with the First Annual Noisekölln Music Video Awards, with music videos from 19 local video artists competing and being shown on this evening.
And what is Noisekölln? Why, Noisekölln focuses on experimental music in a broader way than your usual pedal-fiddling grunt in a basement or art gallery. Noise, they say, is more than just unbearable frequencies. It’s an anti-lifestyle on the fringes of music. Apart from rules and social norms. To trigger new senses. Frequencies and static is reassembled to feed the demand for the new and weird. The complicated and distorted.
Over the past years they’ve organized shows and promoted new artists all over Neukölln. With so much talent out there, they decided it was about time to also feature music video productions. And as part of Loophole’s Movie Festival Boddinale they have the chance to do just this.
Looking forward to it? Me too!
