Sensual expression, enticing movement, stunning curves, graceful burlesque - only on stage? No, now YOU can do it too! Next month three internationally celebrated Burlesque Starletts are going to open The Berlin Burlesque Academy! Where women (and brave men) can learn the art of tease for themselves!
Burlesque courses include Burlesque Basics, Bumps and Grinds and Burlesque Arts. The Academy will also offer fitness courses "Dynamic stretch and Pilates for Performers" and styling workshops. Your tutors come from the scene worldwide: Erochica Bamboo, Marlene von Steenvag, La Viola Vixen, Scotty the Blue
Bunny and Julietta la Doll.
And since we are crazy with excitement we will of course go there immediatly, check out some courses and will certainly share our own burlesque erxperiences with you!. Also keep an eye open for a give away course from indieberlin to draw you closer into the Burlesque World....

Now the two things that I find far too many nights out in Berlin miss are this: warmth and personality - and that's exactly what there are bucketfuls of here: the hostesses of the evening, Lady Lou and La Viola Vixen, are not only two larger-than-life characters who both have a huge smile for everyone and anyone that comes their way, they're also two raucously beautiful and gorgeously dressed-to-the nines women, and in this as in everything else they do, they are surely a celebration of what's so wonderful about the whole neo-burlesque scene growing up so quickly in Berlin: recklessly flamboyant, outrageously colourful, decked out with stunning attention to detail in on-the-button vintage fashion and, oh yes, sexy as all hell.>>follow the article

Heute schon Kultur genossen? Die Neuen Kammerspiele Kleinmachnow starten 2013 kulturell durch!

Der dunkelrote Vorhang öffnet sich. Auf meinem nostalgisch-rot bepolsterten Holzsitz warte ich auf den Beginn des Films, als sich in meinem Rücken noch einmal die schwere Tür zum Kinosaal öffnet. Michael Martens, einer der beiden Geschäftsführenden der Neuen Kammerspiele Kleinmachnow, bittet, eventuelle Störungen von Ton und Bild zu entschuldigen – der Film wird analog vorgeführt. Und er bedankt sich. Für die Unterstützung der Kulturgenossenschaft Neue Kammerspiele Kleinmachnow. So heißen die ehemaligen Kammerspiele jetzt und auch wenn sie äußerlich immer noch wie ein Relikt aus vergangenen Kinotagen wirken, sind sie dennoch im Begriff, sich mit und durch Carolin Huder und Michael Martens deutlich zu verändern.
Die beiden sind die Geschäftsführer und Initiatoren der Kulturgenossenschaft Neue Kammerspiele Kleinmachnow. Huder ist Kulturmanagerin und geschäftsführende Gesellschafterin des Heimathafens Neukölln, Martens ist Diplomvolkswirt und Cineast. Das 1938 erbaute und in den letzten Jahren hauptsächlich als Kino genutzte Haus soll zu einer kulturellen Begegnungsstätte werden, für Kleinmachnower Künstler und Kulturinteressierte gleichermaßen wie für Menschen aus der näheren und weiteren Umgebung. Neben Filmvorführungen sollen unter anderem auch Theater, Lesungen und saisonale Festivals als feste Bestandteile des Programms etabliert werden.
Nachdem im November schon Dieter Moor eine sofort ausverkaufte Lesung gegeben hatte und im Dezember Wladimier Kaminer in den Neuen Kammerspielen aus seinem neuen Buch gelesen hat, sind in nächster Zeit beispielsweise noch einmal Dieter Moor als Zusatzveranstaltung am 19.01. aber neu auch Harry Rowohlt ( 28.4.2013) angekündigt.>>follow the article

The Lost Album - an exhibition of Dennis Hopper's photography

That Dennis Hopper turned out to have documented his passageway through the great and the good in the sixties is one thing, quite another is that he was also a very good photographer. In fact, although Hopper is nowadays known mainly as the bad-boy actor of the sixties and seventies (once described by a critic as the personification of the lost dreams of the sixties), Hopper in fact couldn't get acting work for most of the sixties – after starting out in the fifties where he debuted in roles with James Dean, who became a friend. It was after Dean's death that Hopper aquired a reputation as a difficult and insolent actor – thus he turned to photography and spent most of the decade photographing celebrities, shooting the cover for Vogue on a few occasions, and creating the album cover of the classic Ike and Tina Turner album Mountain Deep – River High. His interest in photography continued through his turbulent career and he ended up with a whole big shoebox full of intimate photographic portraits, which was later released>>follow the article
