Pilates with a Blue Bunny and Burlesque with the Queen of the Quiver
Article published on Thu Mar 7, 2013 by indieberlin.de
The new Berlin Burlesque Academy has opened their doors and the first run of classes takes places as I write this. In fact I was happy to be able to take part in the first run and so I have to let you know about it. I mean, I will tell you how it was and then you will decide to try it out for yourselves. Ready? Here we go.
I went to a Pilates Lesson in the Berlin Burlesque Academy and, well, didn’t quite know what to expect from “Pilates for Performers” with Scotty the Blue Bunny… Hadn’t done Pilates before – nor been taught by blue bunnies - nor was I a performer or especially fit.
I was really impressed with how simultaneously professional and easy-going Scotty was. He made everyone feel very welcome and at the same time imparted a real spirit of teaching in a performing arts academy, and this really got everybody to give that extra bit and work up a good sweat while learning something too.
When I went to the Burlesque lesson with La Viola Vixen I also wasn’t sure what to expect. I had been to other Burlesque lessons before and had always very much enjoyed the celebration of female sexiness and the sisterhood vibe of the lessons. But that had been in another school and since burlesque and teaching depend so much on who does it I just couldn’t really imagine how it could be.>>follow the article

Article published on Mon Feb 4, 2013 by Eden
Berlin's annual Berlinale is about to begin, but on a different note, let's mention another film festival that has been creating buzz around Berlin: The British Shorts Film Festival.
This small wonder has grown quite a bit since it's 2007 debut. The festival has blossomed into a multi-genre, 4 day extravaganza of short film, complete with it's first retrospective, concerts, exhibitions and workshops. An array of carefully selected films from around the world make their debut here, thanks to organizer Jürgen Fehrmann and his crew. >>follow the article
indieberlin Interview: Wir lieben ROXY DIAMOND und deswegen haben wir sie für euch getroffen und ihr viele Fragen gestellt
Article published on Thu Jan 31, 2013 by indieberlin.de
Sowas würde in Zürich nie passieren!

indieberlin recommends - Exhibition opening in Mitte of the Imago
Article published on Tue Jan 29, 2013 by indieberlin.de
I don't know about you but some of the things that bug me about the art scene, and Berlin's in particular is just the fucking pretentiousness of a lot of it. Pretentiousness to me is simply a basic and badly thought-out construct that is meant to hide faltering egos and that deadly combination of pomposity and untalent. And that's one of the first reasons why I'm very happy to recommend to you this particular exhibition opening among the other exhibition openings. In this gallery I can guarantee you won't find either of the above. You'll find great photos and a warm reception and an invitation to take a look and not be judged by your opinion. Check it out at Galerie imago at the Linienstrasse 145 in Mitte.>>follow the article

We're very excited at the moment. International burlesque stars Erochica Bamboo, La Viola Vixen and Marlene van Steenvag have decided to help every woman discover the bump n grind inside them. A whole range of courses are on offer and don't worry, indieberlin is going to check some of them out and let you know all about it.
